Happy Valley-Goose Bay to get private gym

For immediate release – December 15, 2016

(Happy Valley-Goose Bay) Goose Bay Capital Corporation Inc. (GBCC), a majority-owned company of the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies (NGC), announced today that it has signed a deal for its first commercial tenant. Gear’s Gains, a company owned by local resident T. J. Gear, will construct a gym on the Town Centre site. Construction will begin in spring 2017, and the company plans to be open by late September 2017.

“We’re pleased to have our first sale,” said NGC chief operating officer Peter Adams. “A gym is really needed in the town, so this is a great fit for our development.”

The Goose Bay Town Centre will be a 310-acre residential and commercial development. The mixed-use development will include modern office, retail, hotel and residential space. Town Centre will be a complete new community, poised to define life for future generations in Upper Lake Melville.

“With the new gym, we are seeing the beginnings of a town core where the new Town Centre will come to life,” said Adams. “This is a great opportunity for new and established businesses to take advantage of increased traffic with fully serviced commercial lots that are sized to order.”
