Employment Opportunity – Construction Estimator

Nunatsiavut Construction Inc. (NCI) is a member of the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies. Nunatsiavut Construction Inc. is an Inuit owned contractor. We have equipment and capacity to carry out a breadth of construction projects including road construction, water and sewer installation, site services, building construction and aggregate supply. Nunatsiavut Construction Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nunatsiavut Group of Companies.

Nunatsiavut Construction Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to work in communities in Labrador. This position will project and control construction costs by collecting and studying information; controlling construction costs. Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Vendor Relationships, Reporting Skills, Estimating, Decision Making, Teamwork, Documentation Skills, Quality Focus are all qualities required in this position. You must be detail oriented and able to work efficiently within a team as well as independently.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Through knowledge of Construction and tools
  • Fall protection, first aid and WHMIS training are assets
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Possess Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Willing to travel up Labrador coast on occasion

Education:

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma preferably in the civil discipline.
  • Standard First Aid
  • Confined Space
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Whmis
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods

Employment Opportunity – 3rd Mate

Reporting to the Chief Officer, the 3rd Mate is responsible for maintaining the bridge navigational and communications equipment as well as assisting with the vessel’s piloting, navigation, safety and small boat operations. This position is based on a 6 week on 3 week off rotation flying in/out of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
