NGC is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our growing team in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The Human Resource Manager will act as the primary Human Resources point of contact and expert for all the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies. With a strong focus on engagement and retention, the Human Resources Manager will coach, consult and advise the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies’ employees and management enabling them to reach their full potential.

Reporting to the President/CEO and in cooperation with the senior management team, the Human Resources Manager will play a key role in providing Human Resource services in support of NGC’s mission and objectives. The key responsibility areas will include recruitment, selection, employee relations, benefit and salary administration, training and development, Inuit Beneficiary engagement as well as aspects of occupational health and safety.

The specific duties will include but are not be limited to providing support and advice on staffing, employee relations and compensation; coordinating orientation, training, and performance management; preparing job descriptions, drafting policies and procedures; monitoring workplace health and safety; and ensuring effective file management.

The ideal candidate will have a University degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of two (2) years’ progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably in a management role; Experience supporting senior leadership; Experience working with a diverse, multi-location company; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; understanding or familiarity with Inuit culture would be an asset; completed or pursuing a CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) designation an asset.
