Employment Opportunity – Logistics Manager – The Torngats

With ownership of the full logistics management of Torngat Mountains operations offered by Air Borealis, the Logistics Manager of the Torngats is a year-round position dedicating to the smooth and profitable execution of the annual Torngat Mountains adventure tourism experience. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate the logistics of booking and travel for Torngat Mountain Base Camp employees and/or customers;
    • Ensure basecamp onsite capacity management and accommodation allocations
    • Develop flight manifests
    • Update Basecamp Staff and Guests of flight status
  • Accountable for the logistic of start-up, mobilization, and demobilization for all staff and supplies
  • Accountable for the pick-up and delivery for all camp supplies
  • Responsible for all procurement, purchase tracking and reporting
  • Greeting customers/clients upon arrival in Goose Bay and transporting them to and from the airport
    • Organize and execute Goose Bay customer care throughout the season
  • Provide rapid response to all Torngat Mountains customer/client inquiries
  • Assist in the preparation of written/verbal communication including announcements and press releases according to our business policies/procedures
  • Marketing and sales efforts including; including, but not limited to:
    • Responding in a timely manner to visitor inquiries via phone and website
    • Attending trade shows to promote the Torngat Mountains
    • Processing payment, and ensuring proper documentation of sales
    • Preparing and distributing visitor welcome packages
    • Ensuring visitor waiver and medical forms are collected and provided to base camp staff
    • Liaising with Base Camp and Customer Service staff to ensure specific visitor needs and requests are met
    • Maintaining social media accounts throughout the season
    • Working with marketing to ensure all collateral/online assists are effective and up to date
  • Work closely with Receptive Tour Operators on sales of packages for the Torngat Mountains
  • Identify opportunities to implement new and innovative services that support business development, customer satisfaction and fund development
  • Maintain membership with Tourism Associations
  • Other duties as assigned.
