Nunatsiavut Construction Inc. (NCI) is a 100 percent Inuit-owned construction firm. We specialize in residential and commercial building construction, water and sewer and road construction, earthwork and other heavy civil projects.
NCI’s recently formed building division has made the company a leading contractor on the north coast for residential and commercial renovations and construction. Our certification as an Atlantic Home Warranty member provides owners of new and renovated homes peace of mind.
NCI has the people and equipment to get the job completed on time and on budget. Our experienced staff live here, and build their pride into every job. We are proud to say that we average over 59% Nunatsiavut Beneficiaries as employees, with our goal being 100%.
We have an extensive heavy equipment inventory on the north coast, including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, cranes, and a portable rock crusher/screening plant. In addition to our construction experience, we provide quarry services, including drilling and blasting. NCI also supports the mineral exploration industry, with our experience and in co-operation with our sister companies.
NCI is a Registered Aboriginal Business under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB). We are also members of NLCA, with COR certification since 2014.
We can provide entire logistic solutions via land, sea and air through our sister companies, NGC Nunatsiavut Solutions Inc., Nunatsiavut Marine Inc., Universal Helicopters, and Air Labrador.

Reporting to the Chief Officer, the 3rd Mate is responsible for maintaining the bridge navigational and communications equipment as well as assisting with the vessel’s piloting, navigation, safety and small boat operations. This position is based on a 6 week on 3 week off rotation flying in/out of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
