Universal Helicopters Newfoundland and Labrador LP (Universal Helicopters) currently operates 20 aircraft including the Bell 205 (1), Bell 407 (4), Bell 206L4 (1), Bell 206LR (9), Airbus AS350B3e (1), Airbus AS350B2 (2), Airbus AS350B2(SD2) (1) Airbus AS350BA (1).

Universal Helicopters is a 100% Newfoundland and Labrador Company operating primarily in this province with service regularly extending to the Ungava Peninsula, the high Arctic, and other parts of Canada. Our company holds an Operating Certificate and has completed several contracts in Greenland and the United States.

Universal Helicopters began operations in 1963 as Universal Helicopters (NFLD) Ltd. and was once a part of the Okanagan Helicopters group. Now a separate and independent company, Universal Helicopters has acquired a vast amount of experience providing specialty helicopter services in austere and remote areas for 55 years. All of our personnel have valuable managerial and field experience in all facets of the helicopter industry as well as our clients’ industries. Currently Universal Helicopters has approximately 50 employees, many of whom have been with our company for decades.

Employment Opportunity – 3rd Mate

Reporting to the Chief Officer, the 3rd Mate is responsible for maintaining the bridge navigational and communications equipment as well as assisting with the vessel’s piloting, navigation, safety and small boat operations. This position is based on a 6 week on 3 week off rotation flying in/out of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
